● User Reviews : Blood in the Rain: Kim Jee-woon’s A Bittersweet Life
South Korea is known worldwide for pushing the boundaries of modern cinema. In 2005, Kim Jee-woon created a film that will forever be regarded as a masterpiece by fans of South Korean cinema: the gangster film A Bittersweet Life. Corrie Hinschen (Pieces of Work)

If it is irreversible, then I’ll keep going until the end, Movie "A Bittersweet Life"
How sweet is it in reality? When you’re living a life, chasing a dream that you can’t accomplish it is in fact very bitter. Seeing Sun-woo deal with this paradox, that largely dominates the entire movie, my heart pounds heavily. Na Ye-Jin Editor (ART insight PM)

What is the meaning of a masterpiece work to an actor?
Lee Byung-hun who plays the main character in the movie "A Bittersweet Life", mentioned that is his greatest life work in an interview during the 21th Busan international film festival. It was through this movie, that he got his start in Hollywood and so he always feels grateful and affectionate for this film. Kim Hye-Ji (a film fan)

● SYNOPSIS : One day, Mr. Kang the leader of the gang, asks one of his favorite members Sun-woo for a secret favor. Embarrassingly, he asks Sun-woo to spy on his younger girlfriend Hee-soo, while he goes away on a business trip. Sun-woo then chases down Hee-soo and finds out that she’s seeing another man, when he is about to handle the situation "professionally"as Mr. Kang had wanted, he feels sympathy for her and lets them both go. However, when Mr. Kang comes back he finds out that Sun-woo has disobeyed him and puts him through a test. Sun-woo barely manages to escape but comes out of the situation with a need for revenge and he becomes entirely obsessed with anger and hatred towards the people who so easily had cut him off.
